Renew or Update Your Volunteer Application

Two weeks minimum is required for renewal
For the following reasons, 志愿者必须在预计的志愿服务开始日期前至少两(2)周更新他们的申请:
- SPS每年收到多达15,000名志愿者的申请和续期. Your school’s Volunteer Program Liaison (VPL)和一名中央办公室工作人员必须批准每名志愿者.
- Due to budget cuts, many school office positions were cut by 50% or eliminated, and central office staff are absorbing additional duties.

Steps to Renew Your Volunteer Application

1. Volunteer Handbook

2. Renew and/or update your volunteer registration
Access your volunteer information through the volunteer portal, where you can:
- 如果过期(每两年要求一次)，批准新的背景调查;
- add or update your information,
- update your criminal history, if applicable,
- transfer your existing application to other SPS schools.

3. School Approval
在你第一次去新学校做志愿者之前，学校志愿者项目联络员会核实你的信息. Please have the following available:
- A government-issued photo ID
If the school volunteer program liaison 确认您的身份，并确认您在志愿者申请中选择了正确的背景调查类型, 他们会把你加入他们学校的“认可志愿者名单”.”

Leaving the volunteer program

- Submit your resignation via an online form.
